Steps To Creating Your Webpage
1) Decide what you want your webpage to be about. What do you want to accomplish? Who is your target audience? What do you want to include? Take notes, they'll be very useful to you later.
2)Decide on and purchase a domain name. I recommend doing this even before you get hosting, as there is nothing more frustrating than building a webpage and being ready to upload it, only to learn that the domain you were coveting has already been purchased by someone else! You can purchase domain names from any of the 10 web hosting providers listed at the top of this page.
3) Create and build your webpage offline. WebMonkey.com offers a lot of tutorials for those interested in teaching themselves to write HTML and other scripts. Or, you may prefer to build your page using a WYSIWYG program like Microsoft Frontpage or DreamWeaver. I recommend doing everything offline before purchasing your webhosting, so that you're not wasting money by having webspace sitting idle.
4) Purchase a webhosting plan from any of the above 10 web hosting providers (or another, if you are so inclined), and upload your page.
5) Sign up for an account with Google AdSense or another pay-per-click company so that you can start generating a profit from your advertising.
6) Ad links to various affiliate accounts that you would like to promote on your site.
7) When your site is complete and ready for visitors, start promoting it! You can do this using pay-per-click advertising programs, paying to have your link advertised on other people's webpages, or by following any of the other tips provided in this article.
There are a lot of ways to promote your website for free. For example, you can put it in your email and discussion board signatures. Place the link in your blog comments, or do 'link trading' with other sites. Once you have earned enough money through your PPC and affiliate marketing, you can use some of that revenue to pay for bigger, more impressive ads which will then generate more traffic. The more you invest, the more traffic you will receive. However, I always find it's very cost-effective to start small and gain momentum as you go.
